BRISTOL, R.I. (WPRI) -- Thousands of National Grid customers in Bristol lost power overnight after an accident involving a snow plow.
The crash happened around 2 a.m.
Police said a snow plow collided with another vehicle, tipped onto its side and into a utility pole.
National Grid said the crash knocked out power to about 3,000 customers in the Metacom Ave. area. Crews worked through the night to restore power and, according to the WPRI.com real-time power outage database , all but 300 of those customers had been restored by 7 a.m.
Police said two people were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
