BARRINGTON, R.I. (WPRI) -- A Barrington bank was robbed Tuesday, and police believe it may have been the work of the notorious "Bearded Bandit."
The TD Bank branch located at 231 County Road was robbed by a male suspect just before 6 p.m. Tuesday. The suspect did not display a weapon, and fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police tell us the suspect is described as a white male in his thirties, sporting a beard, standing between 5'7" and 5'10", and wearing a blue knit cap and a brown hooded sweatshirt. The description matches that of a man wanted for five robberies in Rhode Island and one in Mass. since February, including the nearby Bank of America branch in July.
Anyone with information regarding the suspect is asked to contact the Barrington Police Department at (401) 437-3930 or their confidential tip line at (401) 437-3933.
