BARRINGTON, R.I. (WPRI) - Fire investigators are looking for the cause of a fire that damaged a Newport Creamery restaurant.
It broke out after 10 p.m. Monday at the restaurant chain's County Road location in Barrington.
Crews responded to the scene after reports of a fire in the basement of the building.
Authorities say the fire appears to be electrical in nature.
The fire forced neighboring businesses to close Tuesday due to the lack of power.
All businesses in the plaza will remain closed until Health Department officials and the Building Inspector determine it is safe to reopen.
