Cops: Barrington Bank of America robbed

Suspect matches description of "Bearded Bandit"

BARRINGTON R.I. (WPRI) - The suspected bank robber known as the "Bearded Bandit", may have struck again.

Barrington police released surveillance photos, showing a suspect who robbed the Bank of America on County Road at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

The man did not show a weapon, and fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robbery is suspected to be linked with a current rash of bank robberies in the area . The suspect meets the physical description of a man in at least four similar robberies in Rhode Island.

Police are attempting to identify and locate the suspect. He is described as a white male in his thirties about 5'7'' to 5'10'' tall, with a full beard, wearing a blue knit cap and brown long sleeve hooded sweatshirt.

The FBI says they have received several tips.
