BARRINGTON, R.I. (WPRI) -- A Barrington police officer accused of threatening family members has been placed on paid administrative leave.
Sgt. Joseph Andreozzi, 45, pleaded not guilty in court Thursday to a charge of domestic disorderly conduct. He was arrested at about midnight Wednesday for verbally threatening his ex-wife and two kids over the phone.
According to Barrington Chief John LaCross, Andreozzi will remain on leave until state police conclude their investigation into the matter.
Andreozzi was released following his arraignment and was ordered not to have contact with his ex-wife or children.
