MIDDLETOWN R.I. (WPRI) -- A local beach is closed for swimming due to high bacteria counts in the water.
The Department of Health recommends that the Atlantic Beach Club in Middletown will be closed on Saturday.
Officials say they will continue to monitor the water quality and recommend re-opening the beach when the water becomes safe for swimming.
