CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) - The city of Cranston could soon see an end to a concrete plant dispute.
The Providence Journal reports the city is about to make the final payment in a $1.9 million settlement with Cullion Concrete.
As part of the deal, the South Kingstown-based company will remove the plant, clean up the site, and drop all legal challenges. The concrete plant was being built along the Pawtuxet River.
City officials voted to buy the half-finished plant back in 2008, after many residents raised concerns.
