PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – The victims of the Newtown, Connecticut shooting were remembered at a special Christmas tree lighting in Providence on Wednesday night.

Religious leaders, including Providence Bishop, Thomas Tobin gathered outside Saint Patrick’s Parish last night to light the tree.

This year, in the wake of the tragic school shooting, organizers placed 26 ribbons on the tree to memorialize each of the victims.
