BRISTOL, R.I. (AP/WPRI) - Health inspectors have uncovered more problems at the Rhode Island Veterans' Home .
A surprise visit by the state Health Department in February found poor attention to the medical needs to two residents and an insufficient level of activities for many other veterans.
The Providence Journal reports that in one case, a resident who complained of ill-fitting dentures waited more than three months to see a dentist.
Officials also found some dementia patients were not receiving the proper amount of therapeutic activities.
Another study of the home in 2008 found cronyism, inappropriate use of restricted funds, "hostile" treatment of families and "dysfunctional" policies. A new administrator was chosen as a result.
