CUMBERLAND, RI (WPRI) - The Rhode Island Hospitality Industry is speaking out against an increase to the state meal tax.
The association will hold the first of several regional meetings today.
Earlier this month, Governor Lincoln Chafee proposed the idea during his "State of the State" address.
Many area businesses say the two-percent increase could be devastating.
The first meeting will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. in Cumberland.
