WOOONSOCKET, R.I. (WPRI) -- Woonsocket Police are investigating after an armed home invasion on Front Street.

Police tell Eyewitness News that they were called to 620 Front Street shortly after 7 a.m. Sunday. The victims told officers that three black men wearing masks had entered the apartment, displayed handguns, and fired one shot. They demanded money but it is unclear if they got any.

Officers arrived in time to see a gray BMW flee the scene at high speed; officers gave chase and three passengers got out at Park Avenue and Willow Street while the driver continued on, eventually crashing at Hamlet Avenue and Cumberland Street by Landmark Medical Center.  The female driver was arrested at the scene.

Investigators say there were no injuries in either the home invasion or subsequent car crash, and that several arrests have been made.

Anyone with more information on the case is asked to call the Woonsocket Police Department at (401) 766-1212 or the anonymous tip line at (401) 769-4444.
