CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WPRI) - Central Fall School Teachers have overwhelming voted no confidence in Superintendent Frances Gallo and the Board of Trustees.

At a membership meeting, 244 of 252 teachers, or 97%, voted no confidence.

“We believe Superintendent Gallo and the Board of Trustees have not displayed the leadership necessary to move this school district forward,” stated Central Falls Teachers’ Union President Jane Sessums.

“The atmosphere at the high school is toxic,” said Jeff Schanck, a classroom teacher at Central Falls High School. “We are not getting the resources we need. Morale is low. The administration keeps changing. There is no consistency–and students are suffering.”

Central Falls High School made national headlines when every single teacher was fired for the school's low-performance.

The school has suffered behavioral problems among students and erratic teacher attendance.
