CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WPRI) - Another Hollywood celebrity has donated money to the Central Falls Library.
Central Falls native and Tony Award-winning actress Viola Davis just sent a $1,000 check to the financially strapped Adams Memorial Library.
Last month, The Alec Baldwin Foundation donated $10,000 to the 101-year old library. Last week, RI Sen. Elizabeth Crowley helped secure a $3,500 state grant for the library bringing the tally of current donations up to $61,000.
The library fell victim to the city's ongoing financial collapse, closing July 1 . But it reopened a few weeks later with the help of a group of volunteers.
On December 1, the library will start opening on Saturdays, adding a sixth day to its weekly schedule.
