CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) - Cranston Police are revealing new information on a deadly weekend accident.

3 people were killed and 4 others were injured when 2 vehicles collided late Saturday night on Elmwood Avenue.

In a preliminary accident report released Tuesday afternoon, investigators revealed that a 2005 Pontiac was traveling south bound on Elmwood Avenue, when the driver lost control. The vehicle crossed the center line, slamming into another vehicle.

The report goes on to state the Pontiac was traveling "at a minimum speed of 85 miles per hour. The posted speed limit for that section of Elmwood Avenue is 35 mikes per hour." All three occupants of the Pontiac were killed.

The report also states that the three people killed died from blunt force trauma, and had an alcohol level above the legal limit. Investigators also determined that they were not wearing seat belts.

The four people traveling in the second vehicle remain in the hospital. That includes two juveniles who are listed in serious condition at Hasbro Children's Hospital
