BARRINGTON, R.I. (WPRI) - - There are new developments in the Ryan Greenberg case.

The boat that hit and killed Patrick Murphy was put back in the water for the first time on Thursday. Lawyers, investigators, and Ryan Greenberg returned to the Barrington River for an eerie reconstruction.

A team of experts were flown in to conduct tests on the 20 foot sea line boat. Greenberg's attorney says returning to the scene is tough for his client, but was crucial for preparing for what will likely be a difficult trial.

Greenberg is accused of striking and killing his friend with a boat on the Barrington River last July. Insurance company representatives, Barrington's police chief, a state prosecutor and the Department of Environmental Management were also present for the reconstruction which lasted almost three hours

Greenberg's trial has been set for January 26th.
