NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. (AP) - Police in Massachusetts are investigating an incident at the home of New England Patriots cornerback Jonathan Wilhite that resulted in him suffering a minor injury.
North Attleboro police said Tuesday that officers responded to a call from Wilhite Sunday morning concerning suspicious activity. Wilhite told police that two people were in the parking lot of his residence when he arrived home, and one approached him and yelled at him.
Wilhite said he ran to a nearby Cumberland Farms store where he asked the clerk to call police. Wilhite told police he pulled his groin while running.
No arrests are reported.
Wilhite was inactive for Sunday's 26-10 win over Atlanta. He played in all 16 games last season with the Patriots during his rookie season.
A team spokesman did not immediately return phone calls.
