PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Local and national organizations are working to help those affected by the recent flooding in Rhode Island.
Residents are encouraged to dial 2-1-1 to receive free volunteer services. They will receive assistance with clean-up and rebuilding.
The program is organized by United Way , Hands on Disaster Response , and members of RI Voluntary Organizations Active Disaster. Together these groups have launched the Rhode Island Recovery Coordination center to offer a quick response to those in need.
The 2-1-1- system will be the primary point of contact from which residents will be matched to the appropriate agency to fit their recovery needs.
