PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island is receiving nearly $4 million in federal stimulus funds to promote clean energy jobs.
The state's congressional delegation announced Wednesday that the Providence Plan's Building Futures program will receive $3.7 million.
The money is intended to help train roughly 1,600 Rhode Islanders in energy-efficient construction and renewable-power industries.
The funding is part of the nearly $100 million in green jobs training grants announced Wednesday by U.S. Labor Secretary Hilda Solis.
