FALL RIVER, MASS (WPRI) - A national group known for helping to prevent crime came to Fall River this weekend after a rash of violence over the past couple of weekends.
The Guardian Angels and their founder Curtis Sliwa toured three Fall River neighborhoods Sunday afternoon.
Residents called the group for help after the violent incidents, which include a fatal shooting.
Sliwa said he's thinking about starting a Guardian Angles chapter in Fall River.
Fall River's new police chief, Daniel Racine, said the Guardian Angels have the right to walk the streets, but he doens't want them taking the law into their own hands.
