Woman recovering after hit and run

Police are searching for vehicle involved

NEWPORT, R.I. (WPRI) – A Newport woman is recovering after a hit and run.

Newport Police tell Eyewitness News that Kristin Brennan was struck by a silver or gray Prius around 12:30 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Broadway and Ayrault Street.

Police say the driver of the vehicle took off after hitting Brennan.

Brennan was transported to Rhode Island Hospital following the crash.

She is now home and recovering from her injuries.

Police say the vehicle likely sustained some front end damage in the incident.

Anyone with information on the hit and run is asked to contact Newport Police at 401-847-8300.
