PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Former world champion boxer Vinny Paz is accused of fighting with two women at a restaurant on Federal Hill over the weekend.

It happened shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday at The Bradford on Atwells Ave. Police reports said the 49-year-old Paz was alleged to have grabbed a woman's breast, and the two began yelling at each other.

The woman's friend, Nicole Brown, 27, told police she then intervened, but Paz hit her in the throat, yanked her hair and threw her to the floor.

Brown, in turn, punched Paz.

When police interviewed him, Paz told them Brown had grabbed him by the hair and started to pull it, so he grabbed Brown's wrists until she released him, at which point she fell.

Paz was arrested and charged with "disorderly conduct after a disturbance."

Brown told police she didn't need medical treatment after the incident.
