PAWTUCKET R.I. (WPRI) -- The parents of a 13-year-old boy, accused of repeatedly burning his 2-year-old relative with a lighter, were arraigned in Providence District Court Monday.
Maj. Authur Martins said Jay and Kimberly Taylor and a 13-year-old boy were babysitting the toddler when the incident happened.
The parents were charged with felony child neglect for failing to notice or prevent the incident.
The Attorney General's Office said the couple did not enter a plea, and they were released on personal recognizance.
The parents are due back in court in October, but it is unknown when the 13-year-old will appear in Family Court.
