Suspect to plead guilty in rape case

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - The man believed to be the East Coast Rapist is expected to plead guilty to a decade old rape case that police believe linked him to other attacks.

A plea hearing for Aaron Thomas is scheduled for November 30th.

The Connecticut man is accused of raping a Virginia woman back in 2001.

Police believe he is responsible for rapes and other charges on 17 women since 1997 in four states, including Rhode Island.

If convicted, he faces life in prison.
