RI man charged with child enticement

He was held on $5,000 surety bail

BURRILLVILLE, R.I. (WPRI) -  A Burrillville man is behind bars after a local mother claims he sent lewd text messages to her son.

The woman notified officials Monday that she was concerned about inappropriate text messages being sent to her son.

Police arrested 51-year-old Richard Mulligan Tuesday night.

Officials charged him with enticement of children.

Mulligan was arraigned in 6th District Court in Providence.

He is being held on $5,000 surety bail. A pre-trial has been scheduled for September 19th.

No further details are being released at this time.

The case is still under investigation.
