PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Providence Police are investigating a home invasion on Federal Hill.

Officers were called to 109 DePasquale Avenue - just off Atwells Avenue - at about 7:45 p.m Saturday.  Police tell Eyewitness News that they are looking for two male suspects, one of whom was armed with a hammer.

Detective Frank Villella told Eyewitness News that the second suspect was armed with a knife and struck one of the three victims in the head who were in the home at the time.

The suspects entered through an unlocked door at the home and took about $4,500 in cash with them after they fled.

The individual who was struck only received a minor injury and was treated at the scene.

However, police said the home was targeted and one of the victims was able to identify one of the two intruders; police are not revealing the identity of that man at this time.

The other two victims in the home weren't harmed during the incident, which still remains under investigation.
