A grand jury has indicted a Providence man for the city's third homicide of 2012, back in May.
Michael Tully, also known as "Bang Bang," is charged with shooting and killing Ralph Joseph, 26, on Salmon Street on the night of May 30. Prosecutors believe Tully and another person tried to rob Joseph and another person during a drug deal at the Manton Heights housing projects, with Tully accused of shooting Joseph in the head with an unlicensed firearm.
Joseph died a few days after the shooting.
Tully, who has sometimes been known as Michael Vanover, was arrested June 8.
Tully is charged with one count of murder, use of a firearm while committing a crime of violence, assault with intent to rob, carrying a firearm without a license, and conspiracy.
