PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Court officials have pushed back the sentencing dates for a disgraced former mayor of Central Falls, who pleaded guilty to corruption charges, and a political supporter who was involved.
Instead of February 5, both men are now set for sentencing a week later, Feb. 12, 2013, according to court documents.
Charles Moreau, the former mayor, and cohort Michael Bouthillette, both pleaded guilty on Nov. 19 at a federal court hearing. Moreau was accused of taking gifts of repair work from Bouthillette in exchange for lucrative city contracts to board up foreclosed homes in the city.
Both men will face Judge John J. McConnell, Jr., and are both expected to get prison time.
