PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- A Pawtucket man attempted to rob a pizza place last November, and he began paying for his actions in court Friday morning.

Justin Thomas, 25, followed a pizza delivery driver into the rear door of an East Providence Domino's and brandished a revolver, forcing customers and employees into a freezer. Thomas then demanded money from each victim and ordered an employee to empty the restaurant's cash register.

East Providence police arrived on scene, which prompted Thomas to flee out the back door and steal a police vehicle, which he proceeded to crash into a different police vehicle.

On Friday, Thomas was indicted by a grand jury in Providence with seven counts of first-degree robbery; use of a firearm while committing a crime of violence; carrying a pistol without a license; three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon; larceny over $1,500; resisting arrest and reckless driving.

Thomas will be held without bail until he is arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on March 1, 2013.
