Police investgating destructive break-in

Suspect stole several packs of cigarettes

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) – Cranston Police are trying to identify the suspect in a destructive break-in.

The suspect broke into the Walgreens on Oaklawn Avenue around 2 a.m. Friday morning.

Police tell Eyewitness News the burglar broke-in by smashing the lower glass panels of the front doors.

The suspect then went behind the counter and stole numerous packs of cigarettes, before taking off.

He is described as a white male with receding brown hair.

His face was covered during the robbery.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact Cranston Police.
