PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Providence police say they have seized 80 guns from city streets in 2012.
The Providence Journal reports the latest was taken from a 17-year-old Tuesday night on Pilgrim street.
Police say the teen was arrested after a car chase. They say he jumped from the vehicle, which was still in gear, and it ended up pinning an officer who was exiting his cruiser.
The officer was able to free himself and assisted in the arrest.
Police say the teen was carrying a loaded 9mm handgun when he was arrested.
His name has not been released.
