PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) - An armed robbery in Pawtucket is under investigation, and police tell Eyewitness News it could be linked to two other recent robberies in the city.
The latest robbery happened at the Sunoco gas station on School Street just after 2 a.m. Monday.
"When our officers arrived, they spoke with the clerk who indicated he was robbed by two light skinned males, each wearing dark colored clothing and ski masks. Each had silver colored hand guns," said Major Arthur Martins.
The suspects made off with about 300 dollars cash and cigarettes.
According to police reports obtained by Eyewitness News, on November 34th the Silver Mart on Cottage Street was held up.
The day before that the McCoy Market on South Bend Street was also robbed at gunpoint.
Now, police are investigating whether any of the robberies are connected.
"We're not sure if this crime is actually related to any of those. That's something we're currently looking at, but these types of crimes go in cycles. And generally after Thanksgiving and before Christmas we always generally see an up-tick," said Major Martins.
No one was injured in any of the robberies. Police are currently reviewing surveillance video to generate new leads.
