WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) -- Four pounds of marijuana, drug-laced candy and packaging paraphernalia were found in a West Warwick apartment unit on Tuesday.
Detectives from the West Warwick Police Dept. executed a search warrant at 3 Bridal Avenue in West Warwick. Upon conclusion of the search, detectives located and seized a large amount of marijuana.
Over four pounds of marijuana, 144 plants and several items that could be used for the packaging and selling of narcotics were found in the building. Also, detectives located 378 hard candies and 28 lollipops that were later said to have contained traces of the drug.
Warwick residents Wayne E. Pitman and Jacqueline L. Magnan were taken into custody and charged with the following: Possession with intent to sell, conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substance Act, manufacturing a Schedule I narcotic and manufacturing a controlled substance near a school or playground.
The two suspects were arraigned on Wednesday, and they each posted $25,000 surety bail.
