DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WPRI) -- A New Bedford man was arrested on Thursday after police were notified he had an inappropriate sexual relationship with a 12-year-old boy.

David Gould, 52, was charged with Enticement of a Child Under 16 on Thursday. In early January, Dartmouth police obtained a warrant to search Gould's residence and belongings. Upon the search's conclusion, authorities discovered Gould had been sending obscene photographs to a young boy through the social media site Facebook.

Gould's attorney claimed his client had a stroke 10 years ago and cannot remember anything; he also reminded the court that Facebook accounts can easily be hacked.

Bail was set at $5,000 dollars. Gould was scheduled to return to court in March, and he will not have Internet access or contact with children until that date.
