PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- A local man was arrested after leading police on a wild pursuit on Wednesday afternoon.
Sean Sparfven was taken into custody after causing multiple crashes that injured three police officers .
The collisions were a result of a police chase that started at an auto salvage shop in North Providence. When the suspect was addressed by police, he allegedly punched an officer in the face and fled from the scene.
At one point, state police were forced to open fire and a woman inside of the truck was grazed with a bullet, causing a minor injury.
Police continued to pursue the suspect’s truck into Providence until the chase came to an end when the truck crashed into Sparfven’s home on Edgemere Avenue in Providence.
Sparfven faces fourteen charges in connection with the incident including: 2 counts of assault with intent to murder, 3 counts of felony assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, 2 counts of reckless driving, and 2 counts of leaving the scene after causing injury.
He is expected in Providence District Court Thursday morning.
