DEVENS, Mass. (WPRI) -- Former Deputy House Speaker John McCauley began a 27-month sentence at Fort Devens in Massachusetts on Monday.
McCauley pleaded guilty in September and admitted that he and his insurance adjuster business partner tried to cheat the federal government out of more than $500,000.
He resigned from the House of Representative in December, just before he was sentenced.
