FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) - A Westport woman who allegedly struck and killed a male friend walking in front of her vehicle has been indicted by a grand jury.
Prosecutors say 48-year-old Hazel Teague White is scheduled to be arraigned Friday on charges of manslaughter, manslaughter by a motor vehicle, and motor vehicle homicide.
Authorities say White struck 67-year-old John Monsam of Sutton on April 23.
Police say they were in an SUV together when he got out. Police say White was driving behind Monsam and hit him, causing him to fall and strike his head. He died at a hospital days later.
According to court documents, they had gone to the Twin River slot parlor in Lincoln, R.I., and White told police he became jealous because she had spoken to other men.
