Wheelchair stolen from Fall River man

Allen Miller believes thieves sold chair for scrap

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) - A man whose wheelchair was stolen over the weekend is looking for justice.

Allen Miller of Fall River says someone stole his chair while he was using the bathroom at his South Main Street home.

"A few kids saw someone walk off with the chair," Miller said, "but they didn't know it wasn't his chair."

Miller was injured a few years ago moving furniture. Since then he has relied solely on his chair and says life without it is proving to be tough.

"I didn't even go two blocks and it took more of half an hour," Miller said, "Thank you, God, for giving me another day. This is ridiculous."

Miller is hoping someone will have the heart to return his chair.

He believes the thief or thieves may have sold his for scrap metal.

Miller says a replacement would cost around $6,000.
