FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) -- A raid on Magellan Street in Fall River netted two suspects along with more than $21,000 cash and nine-and-a-half pounds of marijuana.
Police detectives executed a search warrant and arrested Pedro N. Albergaria, 51, of Fall River, and Joseph Northrup, 61, of Newport, R.I. Both were charged with possession of a Class D drug and conspiracy to violate the drug laws. Albergaria had the additional charge of distribution of a class D drug.
Fall River Police Lt. Kevin Tetrault confirmed to Eyewitness News that Northrup was found hiding in a basement bulkhead doorway. Northrup is accused of tossing a bag with 1.4 oz marijuana to the ground when officers showed up.
The officers seized $21,367 in cash as well as the pot.
