FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) -- A woman convicted in a ritualistic killing will remain in prison.
The Herald News reports Robin Murphy was denied parole Thursday. She will have to wait five years before she can apply again for early release.
Murphy pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for the 1980 death of Karen Marsden. Murphy testified against her two accomplices, who were convicted of first-degree murder.
Marsden's decapitated body was found in the Westport woods. Murphy testified she and her accomplices belonged to a satanic cult, and killed Marsden in a sacrifice ritual.
Murphy was released on parole in 2004, but was sent back to prison for violating the terms of her release.
