EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- An East Providence man who was already convicted of murder 20 years ago has found himself in trouble yet again.
Wednesday morning, Andrew Jett, 54, was charged with the murder of his former girlfriend Michelle Busby. Busby was found dead in her apartment back in August .
He was charged with "unlawfully kill[ing] a human being, Michelle Busby, with malice of forethought in violation of Rhode Island law."
In August 2012, the East Providence Police Dept. issued a warrant for Jett's arrest. He ultimately turned himself in to the police in Baltimore, MD .
"The investigation is far from over," said Police Chief Joseph Tavares. "But at least we've located the person we want to speak to."
The judge ordered Jett to be held in prison without bail.
Jett served 18 years of a 40-year prison sentence for killing girlfriend Stephanie Oxendine of North Kingstown in 1992. He was paroled in 2010.
