Cranston PD seeking to identify armed robbery suspect

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) -- The Cranston Police Department is attempting to identify a male suspect who committed an attempted armed robbery Monday afternoon.

The male was in his 40's and dressed in a black Callaway golf jacket and black Callaway golf hat. He entered the Aldi Market on Cranston Street and threatened the cashier with a handgun.

He did not obtain any money and fled the store toward Franklin Street. No vehicle was seen.
