A Central Falls mother and daughter are now charged with manufacturing and dealing cocaine out of a Fletcher Street apartment -- after a history of drug-dealing charges.
Police arrested Mildred Ramirez, 48, and her daughter Luz, 24, at the home Friday morning after executing a search warrant. Inside the home, police found stashes of cocaine powder as well as "crack" cocaine (in rock form) and marijuana with a street value of nearly $1,500. Officers also found scales, drug-cooking agents, materials to package the drugs, and even ledgers to keep track of the sales.
The women were taken to Providence District Court on charges of manufacturing with intent to deliver cocaine, manufacturing with intent to deliver marijuana, controlled substance conspiracy, and distributing a controlled substance near a school zone.
The apartment is a block over from Calcutt Middle School.
Police said both Mildred and Luz Ramirez had criminal histories involving the distribution of narcotics, and had been on probation for those offenses when they were arrested on the new charges.
