WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) - A suspect is arrested in Warwick on a breaking and entering charge.
Eyewitness News was on the scene, as the suspect, Alan Tatro, 26, was taken into custody on Long Street and Utica Drive on Friday afternoon.
West Warwick police had obtained a felony arrest warrant for the Warwick man, after a cafe in their town was broken into. Police had received information that Tatro was staying at a residence on Wellington Avenue in Warwick.
Neighbors said Tatro seemed like a good guy.
"From what I know of Alan is that he's a decent guy. He just made some bad decisions here and there. But other than that he's a good guy," said neighbor Jason Spencer.
According to officials, once police arrived at the home, the Tatro and a friend fled the area in a vehicle. Our crew on scene, said police had their guns drawn, as Tatro was taken into custody a short time later.
A police K-9 unit was also seen at the scene.
