PROVIDENCE, RI (AP)- - Rhode Island is receiving more than $13 million in federal stimulus money for various transportation
projects.
The state's congression delegation announced the funding on Friday.
The money will be used to renovate the bus lanes at Kennedy Plaza in Providence and to build a parking garage and station platform for the Wickford Junction Station Project. It will also help buy a low-hybrid electric propulsion bus
.
Officials say the money will put people to work while also improving public transportation.
