SWANSEA, MASS. (WPRI) - A Pennsylvania woman accused of kidnapping a toddler from a Swansea gas station last month is fighting extradition to Massachusetts.
An attorney for 38-year-old Kimberly Johnson, who's real name is Alyssa, filed a petition on Monday denying she's the person wanted by police in Swansea.
Swansea Police started looking for Johnson on February 18, after they say she took off from a gas station with her half sister's daughter in the car. The 13-month old baby girl was found hours later safe, but abandoned in Middletown, Conn. Johnson claims she wasn't in Massachusetts on the 18th.
Johnson was arrested in Altoona, PA several days later. She's being held on $1million bond.
