(WPRI) - Single life can get expensive, but if you're looking to settle down with a partner who's also money-minded, a new survey of the best cities for singles from Kiplinger's Personal Finance has some ideas.
The survey factored income, cost of living, the unemployment rate, the number of singles, and the cost of a date night out.
Sliding in at number one may be a surprise: Bloomington, Illinois. It's neighboring city, Normal, Illinois, is the home of Illinois State University. The city holds a large college population and has a high median income.
The complete list can be seen below.
1. Bloomington, Illinois
2. Baltimore, Maryland
3. Ann Arbor, Michigan
4. New Haven, Connecticut
5. Los Angeles, California
6. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
7. Santa Cruz, California
8. Trenton, New Jersey
9. Richmond, Virginia
10.New York, New York
