The hunt begins for seasonal jobs

Retailers looking for all types of holiday staff

(WPRI) - With the holidays right around the corner, major retailers across the country are seeking new employees for seasonal positions.

It may seem early to start applying, but there is no better time to submit resumes. Many retailers are already accepting applications, with even more giving preference to those that submit their paperwork early.

Generally, a wide range of positions are open, including full-time and part-time. However, even though the jobs may only be temporary, people that are presently unemployed can still use the experience to break-in to the market.

The National Retail Federation predicts retailers will add almost 600,000 seasonal workers this year.

In addition, there are seasonal opportunities available in a range of industries, not just in retail. Sometimes the best positions are those that support retail, including shipping facilities.
