(WPRI) – From teachers getting money back for school supplies to getting reimbursed for your health insurance premiums, there are ways to max out your refund without breaking a sweat.
Even though there are not a lot of new credits this year, Congress decided to extend many already in place.
Tuition and fees deduction:
There are also energy credits for those who have made improvements to their homes to help with energy efficiency.
Another way to maximize your refund is to avoid refund anticipation loans, which is a loan against your refund which requires high fees to get.
If you are claiming energy credits and some of the business credits, the IRS says it is still updating its system for those forms, but hope to be up and ready in just a few days.
