(WPRI) – Looking for love? Well, it turns out GPS systems are no longer just for directions on the road.
New GPS-based dating apps have hit the market, giving lonely hearts another chance at finding their mate.
With the popularity of online dating sites increasing, GPS enabled apps allow people to search more efficiently within their area. For example, checking in someplace with your smartphone will let other users know your location, making it easier to connect.
However, some potential users are hesitant because of safety risks. Experts say to make sure you are only checking in at public places, and always tell someone where you are going.
Also, just because you are in the same place as another person on the app, doesn’t mean you have to meet that person right away. It is okay to send out an email or text if you’re nervous, then just set up another time and place to meet.
