(WPRI) - Based on new research, some of the best deals might not be found on Black Friday.
A study conducted by online research company Decide.com suggests that the days before and after the shopping holiday yield more savings.
According to expert Shauna Causey, consumers are better off sleeping-in after Thanksgiving and looking online for deals.
"A common misconception is that Black Friday is a great time to buy across categories ... [but] only 30% of products that we looked at as far as doorbusters were actually a good deal," Causey said.
However, other experts say high-ticket items, especially video games and electronics, are the best deals you can find in-store on Black Friday.
Regardless, all seem to agree that the holiday has certainly evolved over the last 6 years.
Just remember to do your homework and research what you want before lining up hours ahead of time.
